Shatayushi Surgical Hospital – Case Files for Cancer Treatment
26 year old man complained of hypertension and palpitations. On evaluation was found to have a functional paraganglioma (tumor which secretes adrenaline), which was lengulfing the inferior vena cava and both the kidney blood vessels. High risk successful surgery was done and the patient is asymptomatic since then.
27 year old man was complaining of recurrent abdominal pain and on evaluation was found to have intussusception (intestine within intestine) due to a fatty tumor of meckels diverticulum. He was successfully operated by laparoscopy and cured completely.
19 year old boy developed a tumor in his right sided parotid gland (salivary gland). He was successfully operated by superficial parotidectomy and is disease free since then.
39 year old lady presented with advanced cancer of mandible. The tumor was downsized by giving chemotherapy first and then the patient was successfully operated by removing the jaw and reconstructing it with a muscle flap. Patient is doing well now.
50 year old man presented with thyroid (neck swelling) and his hemithyroidectomy (removal of half thyroid ) revealed cancer. He was again operated to remove remaining of thyroid and surrounding lymph nodes.
60 year old lady presented with progressive distension of abdomen since 2 years. On evaluation was found to have a large ovarian tumor. The 10kg mass was removed with the uterus and the patient is pain free since then.
40 year old lady developed an incisional hernia in the scar of her cesarean section. She was operated laparoscopically successfully and is now doing well. Her postoperative course was painless and smooth due to laparoscopic surgery.
17 year old girl developed excruciating pain in abdomen and was found to have rotation of the small intestine. She had congenital Malrotation of the small intestine. She was operated successfully and is pain free since then.
Breast Conserving Surgery
60 year old lady developed a tumor in her right breast which was diagnosed as cancer. She was keen on conserving her breast and so a breast conserving surgery was done on her.
